What You’ll Need
Before starting service, be prepared to provide a few basic items:
- Valid drivers license
- One of the following: birth certificate, military ID, passport, social security card or voter registration card
- If purchasing – a copy of the deed
- If leasing – a copy of the lease agreement
Additional documentation may be required depending on your situation. Our team will walk you through any next steps.
Security Deposit
A security deposit may be required when starting residential electric service. Deposit amounts are based on credit history and may vary by account.
Most members fall into one of three categories:
| Low Risk | No deposit required |
| Medium Risk | About $200 or one month of estimated usage |
| High Risk | About $250 or two months of estimated usage |
Deposits help protect the cooperative and its members and are typically refundable after meeting account requirements.
Members enrolled in prepaid service may not be required to pay a deposit.
Rates & Charges
Residential electric service includes standard rates and occasional service-related fees.
Examples may include:
- Meter activation
- Reconnection charges
- Temporary service setup
- Outdoor lighting additions
